David Simon


B.1970 in New York and currently based in Los Angeles, CA, David Simon has a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design. He has also studied at Brown University, The New York Academy of Art, and has spent considerable time in individualized study in Italy in both Rome and Carrara. A sculptor of international acclaim, David Simon’s career has ranged from sculpting life-size portraits and figures to overseeing construction of massive bronze statues, including the giant Leonardo da Vinci Horse project. David created maquette and sculptures for films such as Where the Wild Things Are, Fantastic Four, and Watchmen, and holds private workshops abroad and in his Los Angeles studio.

David sculpts in bronze, beeswax and an indoor/outdoor ploy-resin material called forton. His inspiration comes from classical masters of stone and bronze found throughout the canon’s of global art history. His prices range from $5,000 to $35,000 depending upon size and materials. In addition to his studio portraits and full figured sculptures, he is also available for private commission work.
